The new survivor in Dead by Daylight is known. She can cast spells because she is a real, modern witch!
The last chapter of Dead by Daylight was a bit lackluster. This is because it only included the new killer Pinhead, but no new survivor. Now the developers are following up and announcing the small chapter “The Hour of the Witch.” The content: A new survivor who is a real witch! We will reveal what Mikaela Reid can do.
What can Mikaela Reid do? Like all survivors, Mikaela Reid comes with 3 of her own perks. She is the first survivor who can create what are called “Boon Totems.” With this, she turns inactive or active totems into positive buffs for the survivors nearby. As usual, the perks can initially only be played on Mikaela, but you can unlock them for all other survivors via the Bloodweb. In detail, they are:
- Clairvoyance: The ability activates whenever the survivor cleanses a totem. If the survivor holds no item in hand, Clairvoyance can be used with the “Active Ability Button” to see all exit gates, generators, hooks, and chests within a 64-meter radius for up to 8 / 9 / 10 seconds.
- Boon: Circle of Healing: The survivor can bless a dull totem (Dull Totem) or a hex totem (Hex Totem) to turn it into a blessing totem. Quiet sounds can be heard within a radius of 28 meters. Survivors within a radius of 28 meters receive a bonus of 90 % / 95 % / 100 % on the healing speed. Survivors within the radius of the totem can heal themselves even without a med-kit.
Only one totem can be turned into a blessing totem at a time per survivor. This totem encompasses all blessing perks of the survivor. - Boon: Shadow Step: The survivor can bless a dull totem (Dull Totem) or a hex totem (Hex Totem) to turn it into a blessing totem. Quiet sounds can be heard within a radius of 28 meters. Survivors within the radius leave no scratch marks, and their aura is never revealed. When a survivor leaves the radius, the effect lasts for another 2 / 3 / 4 seconds.
Only one totem can be turned into a blessing totem at a time per survivor. This totem encompasses all blessing perks of the survivor.

What is the story of Mikaela Reid? Mikaela is a “modern” witch who has always been interested in horror stories and loved telling them. Over the years, she read people’s futures, created her own soaps and ointments from herbs, and built her livelihood this way.
At a large Halloween festival, she was supposed to present her spooky story. But while she was writing this story, she was already plagued by nightmares – of spider-like claws and a creature dragging her down a basement stairs before a sharp hook pierced through her chest.
On the day of the big story, she ends her work by pointing to the sky and declaring that no darkness is truly superior to the light. The audience thought the fog that then engulfed her was a magic trick – but Mikaela was never seen again.
When will the survivor be released? There is currently no specific release date for Mikaela Reid. However, since her entire theme revolves around witches and thus also Halloween, a release around mid or late October is quite likely. Presumably, October 19 is targeted as the release date.
Several survivors will surely change their main character.
