The latest patch of Dead by Daylight is live. In the “All-Kill” chapter, you will face the Trickster – a crazy K-Pop singer.
The latest patch of Dead by Daylight is live. Update 4.60 has brought the new chapter “All-Kill”, which introduces two new characters to the realm of the Entity. The crazy killer “The Trickster” hunts with his throwing knives while his producer Yun-Jin Lee tries to escape his madness.
This is the Trickster, the new killer
The Trickster is a ranged killer, but has clear differences compared to the Huntress. He possesses a variety of small throwing knives that he can fling at a rapid pace. Each hit causes small injuries. If enough injuries are accumulated, the survivor loses a health tier. While it takes several hits in succession, experienced players should be able to raise the injury meter reliably and quickly.
Knives are replenished at lockers. During the “Ultimate”, the Trickster can throw even faster and does not consume any knives. A small trailer in the best anime style gives a taste of the killer.
The Trickster comes with 3 unique perks:
Starstruck: Starstruck activates when you pick up a survivor. Survivors who leave the terror radius are affected by “Exposed” for 26 / 28 / 30 seconds (they go down with a single hit). The same effect applies to survivors who are within the terror radius at the moment a survivor is hanged. Starstruck has a cooldown of 60 seconds, starting once the survivor is no longer carried.
Hex: Crowd Control: After a survivor hastily climbs through a window, the Entity blocks that window for 10 / 12 / 14 seconds for the survivor. The curse remains as long as the corresponding totem is in play.
No Way Out: Each time the killer hangs a unique survivor, they receive a token. After the last generator is activated, the Entity blocks the switches for the exit gates for 10 seconds plus 4 / 6 / 8 seconds per token earned.
This is Yun-Jin Lee, the new survivor
As a new survivor, Yun-Jin Lee enters the game, the discoverer of the Trickster. She helped him achieve his success. More about the eerie backstory of the two characters can be found here.
Like all survivors, Yun-Jin also comes with three unique perks:
Fast Track: When another survivor is hanged on the hook, you gain 1 / 2 / 3 tokens. You consume all tokens on your next great skill check at a generator. The generator gains 1% additional progress per consumed token.
Smash Hit: After you stun the killer with a pallet, you enter a sprint for 4 seconds at 150% of normal movement speed. The perk causes exhaustion for 60 / 50 / 40 seconds and cannot be activated while exhausted.
Self-Preservation: Whenever another survivor within 12 meters is hit by a standard attack from the killer, Self-Preservation activates. Your scratch marks, blood trails, and pain screams are hidden for 6 / 8 / 10 seconds.
Trickster is controversial, but pretty cool
Trickster divides the community: The Trickster caused quite a stir right after his announcement and divided the community’s opinion. While many players cannot relate to the K-Pop style and believe it does not fit Dead by Daylight, there is also a large number of players who have fallen in love with the Trickster. Within a few hours, he became the new sex symbol of Dead by Daylight – bringing many strange memes and “interesting” fan art into the community.
How much does the DLC cost? As usual, new chapters in Dead by Daylight cost money. The price for chapter 19 is 7 Euros. Those who wish can also unlock both killers and survivors with shards that can be earned in-game. This takes a while, but it allows frugal players to eventually access the characters.
What else is changing? The patch has also brought a whole range of improvements and adjustments along with the new characters. The two most important concern the killers Wraith and Blight. They receive clear buffs, making them solid opponents now.
- The Wraith has now implemented his “Windstorm” addon as standard. This means he moves significantly faster during his invisibility and can move across the map much more quickly. The Windstorm addons have been slightly nerfed to compensate for this.
- The Blight finally had its camera perspective adjusted. Previously, the camera was too low, making it feel like you were looking from the waist of the Blight. Now, the camera is significantly higher, which better corresponds to the killer’s height. This provides better visibility and allows you to look over many objects, which was not possible before.
- The perk “Decisive Strike” has been massively nerfed. It is now deactivated when survivors do anything other than flee from the killer (repair, heal other players, etc).
Have you checked out the new patch yet? How do you like the Trickster? Have you tried the other killers?
