The Huntress from the latest update for Dead by Daylight is nasty – she is the first ranged fighter of the horror game!
Since yesterday (07/27/2017), the latest patch for Dead by Daylight has been active on PC. Update 1.6.0 brought the DLC “A Lullaby for the Dark” – free for all players.
The new killer is the Huntress who has a pretty dark story. As a young child, she lived with her mother in the woods and survived on what nature provided. They had a small house, hunted a lot, and ate berries. But one day, they hunted a large moose together. They knew the animal was dangerous, but food was scarce, and hunger was great. Although the moose died, the mother was also severely wounded. As she slowly breathed her last and her body grew colder, she sang her daughter her favorite song one last time.
Since then, the girl has lived alone in the woods. Although she is mentally still at the level of a child, she has further improved her hunting skills. For a long time, she no longer only hunts animals – she also hunts people. Just not little girls. She takes them to her cabin and chains them up so that they do not die from the dangers in the woods – until they starve or freeze. Today, no one dares to enter the forest where the Huntress supposedly lurks…
The Huntress’s Abilities
Now let’s talk about her abilities and features:
- The Huntress is slightly slower than other killers.
- The Huntress hums her song when she is within 45 to 20 meters of survivors. Below this threshold, her terror radius is applied.
- (Heartbeat).
- With a right-click, she can throw hatchets. The longer she charges the attack, the further the hatchet flies.
- She can refill her hatchets at lockers when they have been used (Maximum 5).
Like all killers, she comes with 3 unique perks:
- Beast of Prey – Her bloodlust is so overwhelming that her connection to the Entity is temporarily cut off, making her unpredictable. Once she benefits from bloodlust, her red stain disappears for 25 seconds. This effect can occur once every 120 seconds.
- Territorial Imperative – Unlocks the potential of her aura reading ability. The auras of survivors become visible for 3 seconds when they enter the basement, and the Huntress is more than 32 meters away from the basement entrance. This effect can only occur once every 30 seconds.
- Hex: Huntress Lullaby – A curse that draws strength from despair. Survivors suffer a regression of an additional 6% when they fail a skill check. Each time a survivor is hooked, the curse becomes more powerful, and the Huntress gains a token.
- 1-4 tokens: The time between the warning sound of a skill check and the skill check is reduced.
- 5 tokens: Skill checks no longer give a warning sound.
The curse remains as long as the associated totem is active.
The perks are “teachable” as always, meaning they can be unlocked for all killers through the blood web.
