After just a few days, the Demogorgon is getting a small buff in Dead by Daylight . Additionally, matchmaking is finally being fixed again.
The release of the “Stranger Things” chapter of Dead by Daylight has been a few days ago. After a short time, it became clear that the Demogorgon is falling a bit short of expectations and can be countered relatively easily. Therefore, the Demogorgon is now receiving a small buff, which will also ensure that one of its addons is revised. Patch 3.2.1 is already live.
Demogorgon becomes more destructive: The Demogorgon can automatically destroy pallets with the release of Patch 3.2.1 when it attacks them with a special attack (Shred). This forces survivors to aim for more precise timing when trying to stun or stop the Demogorgon by knocking over the pallet.
At the same time, the Demogorgon becomes a bit faster because it can already charge its attack from a distance and rush towards the pallet without having to approach it completely.
This article reveals whether the Demogorgon is right for you.
Addon “Red Moss” revised: Previously, the Demogorgon could only destroy pallets with “Shred” when using the addon “Red Moss”. Since this is now useless, it is being revised. In the future, it will ensure that the Demogorgon has the “Undetectable” effect for a full 10 seconds after emerging from a portal. During this time, he has neither a terror radius nor can the red stain be seen. However, the addon also ensures that the Demogorgon can use his portals less often, as the cooldown increases to 24 seconds.
Improvement in matchmaking is also live: Another important change concerns the matchmaking in Dead by Daylight. In the days following the release of the “Stranger Things” DLC, there were massive problems. Players at a low rank often had to face other players with much more experience and a better rank. This made many matches dull and simply boring for both sides.
The hotfix now changes the “matchmaking logic” so that groups from “Survive with Friends” face killers that correspond to the level of the strongest survivor. This should resolve many of the issues.
Many more bug fixes: Aside from the major changes, there are also plenty of small bug fixes. For example, the map “The Underground Complex” has been revised to prevent survivors from crawling to safe places where the killer cannot pick them up. Additionally, several bugs have been fixed that caused the game to crash when the Demogorgon used one of its portals. Minor graphical glitches have also been eliminated.
Whether the patch can truly resolve the mentioned difficulties or new problems will emerge remains to be seen.
Have you played the Demogorgon yet? Do you find the buff justified? Or was the killer already strong enough before?
