In Dead by Daylight it will rain blood points every month soon. The rewards will be drastically improved and significantly increased.
Blood points are an important resource in the asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight. Players use them to unlock perks, items, and addons on all characters, which can significantly contribute to the success of the survivors and the killer. Blood points are scarce, and many players wished there were more. The developers are fulfilling this wish by turning a knob – the monthly blood points reward will be drastically increased.
What was the problem? Some time ago, Dead by Daylight had a ranking system, which was replaced by the “Grade” system before some patches. The better your “Grade” at the end of the month, the greater the bonus blood points you receive during the monthly reset (on the 13th of each month).
However, this bonus was rather low. For the best “Grade,” there were “only” 250,000 blood points, which many players felt was too little – after all, you had to play for dozens of hours to achieve that.
How many blood points are there now? That depends on your earned “Grade.” At the lowest level, there are still only 10,000 blood points – at “Ash 4.” However, if you play to the highest rank Iridescent I, you will wait for a whopping 1,000,000 blood points at the next reset! In the current patch, this would only be 250,000 blood points – so the maximum yield will be quadrupled.
A few more comparisons are provided in this table, so you can see how significant the improvements are:
| Grade | Old Reward | New Reward |
| Ash IV | 10,000 | 10,000 |
| Ash I | 10,000 | 50,000 |
| Bronze I | 30,000 | 175,000 |
| Silver I | 100,000 | 340,000 |
| Gold I | 150,000 | 550,000 |
| Iridescent IV | 200,000 | 700,000 |
| Iridescent III | 210,000 | 800,000 |
| Iridescent II | 225,000 | 900,000 |
| Iridescent I | 250,000 | 1,000,000 |
By the way: You receive blood points for both your killer and survivor grades. So if you play both sides extensively and reach Iridescent I, a whopping 2,000,000 blood points are waiting for you. For this purpose, the limit of 1,000,000 blood points on the account can also be temporarily exceeded – just as it is already the case with bonus blood points.
When does this apply? Already with the next grade reset on February 13. Until then, the interim patch 5.5 will be active, and everyone can benefit from the improvements immediately. Although there is no exact release date for the patch yet, it will probably be the case in the next 1-2 weeks.
What do you think of these changes to the grade system? Good and reasonable? Is this now an appropriate reward? Or is it all just a drop in the ocean?
