The graphics update of Dead by Daylight is in full swing. Some new images make us hungry for more – but perks are also being improved.
The latest killer “The Rot” has been playable for a few weeks now and slowly but surely the next mid-chapter patch is approaching. There, the developers are advancing their efforts to bring Dead by Daylight visually up to the standards of 2020. Gradually, all maps and animations are being revised and graphically improved. But many perks are also being improved and made more viable – for both killers and survivors.
The next map to receive a graphical overhaul is the MacMillan Estate. This is one of the first realms that ever existed in Dead by Daylight and is accordingly somewhat outdated. Although only initial ideas are currently available, they are definitely worth seeing. Do you recognize the following locations?
Please keep in mind regarding the images that these are only concept drawings so far. Based on the last updates, such as on the Yamaoka estate, we already know that the images will closely resemble what will later be seen in the finished game.
Many perks are being buffed because they are too weak
The next mid-chapter patch has even more in store than just a few graphical enhancements. The developers have taken a close look at a whole range of perks and are making significant changes to them. In the past, there were concerns that perks might be considered “too powerful,” but those concerns have since been alleviated. Therefore, some perks will become even more effective so that they will be used more often. However, some perks have also been weakened. Among the most important planned changes are:
- Any Means Necessary: There are now blood points for resetting pallets. Additionally, the cooldown is reduced to 60 seconds.
- Cruel Limits: The radius of the blockages is increased to 32 meters (from 24 meters).
- Mindbreaker: The exhaustion effect now lasts a few seconds longer on survivors.
- Slippery Meat: The increased chance to escape from bear traps has been removed. Instead, the chance to escape from the hook has been increased.
- Thanataphobia: The perk no longer reduces the healing speed of all survivors. All other actions are greatly slowed down as a trade-off.
- We’re Gonna Live Forever: There are new ways to collect tokens. The speed at which dying survivors are healed (lying on the ground) has been increased as an additional bonus.
- Technician: Explosions from generators are now guaranteed to be avoided. However, a failed skill check results in a larger penalty.
- Pop Goes The Weasel: The duration of the perk has been reduced to 45 seconds.
