In the superhero MMO DC Universe Online, the next DLC is expected to be released by the end of 2014. With “War of Lights II,” the saga surrounding Green Lantern and his adversary Sinestro continues.
Green Lantern is not exactly considered a superhero in Europe. One tends to think more of Superman or Batman, Wonder Woman has her fans, Green Arrow and Flash currently have TV series … and even Aquaman … okay, let’s skip that, Green Lantern definitely comes before Aquaman.
Orange is the new Green
However, even if there may be more well-known heroes – at least in Europe – the spotlight in the MMO DC Universe Online currently belongs to the Green Lantern. He and his nemesis “Sinestro” will also play central roles in “War of Lights II.” In the DLC, announced for the end of the year, six new adventures will await heroes and villains, six skill points will be earnable, and players will venture for the first time to Qward and Zamaron.
The story revolves around the threat of emotional entities, this threat is not only to be protected against by Sinestro and Green Lantern, “The Emotional Spectrum,” but also by the Star Sapphires. They are endangered by the supervillain Brainiac, who wants to replace emotions solely with logic. Sounds kind of like a story from the ’60s.
In the universe of Green Lantern, the individual “Corps,” the various ring organizations represent different “emotional personifications.” The green Corps represents willpower, the yellow for fear, and the violet for love.
As Jens Anderson, the Creative Director states, this DLC is the middle part of the trilogy, and it is known to be the one with the most substance. The new direction of the story will show that the passionately fought battle for love this time is not so easily separable in black and white.
Well, probably rather in yellow and green.
