The Free2Play monster hunting MMO Dauntless will offer a new island, leaderboards, snail creatures, and 2 Battle Passes in the upcoming “Wealth and Glory” update. Not everyone is pleased with this.
What’s included in the new update? The major update Wealth and Glory (Fortune & Glory) will launch with update 0.9.0 on the action MMO Dauntless servers. It includes tons of new content:
- A completely new island brought in by a mysterious pirate, Lady Fortuna. The island features new monsters in special versions that are even harder to kill.
- Additionally, there are regular creatures here that are not Behemoths . The first of these is a small snail that you should squash immediately, or it will slime everything and ruin your hunt.
- You can now track your achievements on leaderboards and compare yourself with other hunters.
- In addition, there will be 2 new Battle Passes for the upcoming season.
What’s the deal with Loadouts? The option for different loadouts that fans have long demanded is not included in patch 0.9.0. According to the developers on Reddit, it is set to come in the following update 0.9.1.
When is the update coming? The update along with the new season will launch on July 16, 2019.
2 Battle Passes – Blessing or Curse?
Here’s what the Battle Passes are about: The next season is called “High Skies” and features 2 consecutive Battle Passes. The first is called Wealth & Glory and has a pirate theme.
Later, sometime in August, the second pass named “Zephyr Strike” will be released. Each pass will have 50 levels.
This is how fans are reacting: Most players find the pirate outfits cool and are looking forward to it. However, not everyone on Reddit is convinced that there should be two passes. After all, one could also offer a larger pass with more items instead of 2 passes that each require separate payment:
- “It’s about the money, people wanted more, and now they’re getting more, but for a price.”
- “That’s lame, especially since they advertise it as a bonus.”
Other players are less concerned, as this way they at least get 2 themes in case they don’t like the pirates.
