The developers of the online action RPG Dauntless have spoken about what is planned next for the game after the PAX South gaming convention.
With Monster Hunter World, Dauntless faces a strong competitor that is currently attracting more attention. However, the developers of Dauntless are not impressed by this and are planning for the current year 2018. This will, for example, see the launch of the open beta of Dauntless.

This is how development continues
Based on the feedback from previous testers and what was learned from the presentation at PAX South, the team is currently working on the following things:
- Ways to gain more influence over the game world and the story
- More exciting events that are more integrated into the game’s lore
- Beards for the characters
- Crafting should allow for more effective and a greater number of items in a shorter time
- The tutorial should be further improved to provide a good entry point for newcomers
- Even more activities for players that make exploring the islands and hunting monsters more exciting
- Optimizations to the War Pike
- More cells and more options to use them, as well as more flexibility in using cells for weapons
- Easier ways to find groups and hunt together with friends
- Improvements to the chat and the general user interface
- Hunting multiple Behemoths simultaneously
- Optimizations to bleeding damage to make the combat more interesting

Open Beta coming
The developers of the online action RPG Dauntless have quite a bit planned for the near future. They also state that the open beta is still planned for 2018.
Competitor Monster Hunter World is currently giving Dauntless some trouble.
