The Monster Hunter-like action RPG Dauntless is well received by players. The open beta is running excellently.
More than one million players have now signed up for the beta of the action RPG Dauntless. At the beginning, the servers were completely overloaded.
A great achievement
An excellent start. The Open beta of Dauntless started on May 24. So many players signed up that wait times of nearly 100,000 players emerged. This was annoying for those waiting, but a huge success for the game. Because the high number of players shows how great the interest in Dauntless is.
More than one million players. The development team has now worked hard on the issues and has gotten the wait times under control. The team is also proud of the success:
- More than one million players have signed up for the RPG.
- The developers announce that since the start of the open beta, 1,064,484 Slayers have been created.
- About 50,000 new players join daily.
- More than 6.3 million hours have already been played in total.
- Players have now killed over 5.8 million Behemoths.
This is a remarkable achievement for Dauntless, as fans lost faith in the game at times. Many shifted their interest to Monster Hunter World, which plays faster. Interest in Dauntless declined, and this was clearly reflected in Google trends. The advantage of Dauntless: Monster Hunter World was not released for PC and is still a long way off. It is only expected to come to PC in the fall – Dauntless is already playable now.
What’s next? Currently, Dauntless is in open beta, which represents a soft launch. Later this year, the beta will simply transition into the regular release. The team also states that they have big plans to support the RPG with updates, expansions, and new Behemoths for a long time.
