The Monster Hunter-like action RPG Dauntless has received a big update. It’s time to check how the game is currently doing.
What is Dauntless? The action RPG follows in the footsteps of the well-known Monster Hunter series. You hunt the giant Behemoths on floating islands.
- Together with other players, you set out to explore the islands and fight against the monsters.
- Each Behemoth has different strengths and weaknesses, and you must figure out how to defeat the creatures.
- In the town of Ramsgate, you improve your hero with new gear, crafted from resources left behind by the Behemoths.
- Quests lead you to ever new islands.

Plenty of Updates
What has happened recently in the game? Dauntless is currently officially still in beta and is set to release on PC via the Epic Games Store. Versions for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices are planned.
Regular updates such as The Coming Storm are being released, which brought a new faction, new Behemoths, and “real” ranged weapons. Just now, the game has been expanded with the update “Path of Fire”.
What does Path of Fire bring? The game is being restructured to facilitate the onboarding process.
- You receive new starter quests so that you know from the beginning how to best improve your hero.
- A new map shows you the danger levels of each island and what type of hunt it is. This determines what rewards you can expect.
- The crafting system has been revamped. You can now upgrade weapons up to level 15 and use new materials for it.
- The end screen after a hunt now offers more and more useful information.
- As part of a new Hunt Pass, you gain access to a range of new rewards. This is a new season where you are rewarded for mastering challenges.
