Many Guardians are eagerly awaiting the second weapon Exotic of Season 6 – the Arbalest. It is now known where and how to obtain this firearm.
This is the weapon in question: The Arbalest is the first kinetic linear fusion rifle in Destiny 2. After the hand cannon Dorn, it is the second and final exotic weapon introduced in Season 6.
The Arbalest fires projectiles that deal massive damage to enemy elemental shields (although the weapon is kinetic). Furthermore, enemies become more vulnerable to kinetic damage for a short time once the Arbalest destroys their elemental shield.
How to obtain the Arbalest in Destiny 2
In this event, you can secure the weapon: Fans had speculated for a long time on how to obtain the weapon. Because there was no official information. Some assumed it was hidden behind a time lock. Bungie might be saving it for the downtime after the Spring event until the start of the next season.
Others thought it might come into the game during the Indulgence event. And this theory has now proven true. As the studio announced, players can earn the Arbalest during the upcoming Spring Festival in Destiny 2. The so-called Indulgence starts on April 16 and runs until May 7.
What you need to do precisely for the weapon: Bungie has revealed relatively little about it. It was stated that one could obtain the new Exotic by completing Triumphs and exchanging Indulgent Essence with Eva Levante, the contact person for the Spring event.
A data miner dug a little deeper into the game data and discovered further details:
- The weapon is apparently not tied to a quest, but can be purchased directly from Eva
- The weapon costs 300 units of a previously secret currency. However, it is highly likely to be the Indulgent Essence mentioned by Bungie.
- The essence can be obtained according to game data from daily event bounties that one also receives from Eva
- Most of these daily event bounties grant 25 units of the classified currency (likely Indulgent Essence)
- You will need to successfully complete 12 daily bounties from Eva to afford the weapon
- Entries about possibly additionally required Triumphs have not been found by the data miner
Update: It has turned out during the event itself that you also have to complete the event Triumph “Hard Celebrated” for the Arbalest. You only receive this when 7 Triumphs of Indulgence are unlocked.
Furthermore, Eva currently has no daily bounties available, only a weekly one. However, these should become definitely available, as one of the event Triumphs requires the completion of 50 daily and weekly bounties.
Since the event runs for three weeks, it should be possible for most players to earn the required amount of Indulgent Essence.
According to Bungie’s statements, the essence can also be obtained through boss kills in the new event activity Greenforest and from other activities.
