The Pokémon GO dataminer Chrales has once again searched the game’s code and stumbled upon new costumes for Pokémon.
The dataminer Chrales is known for regularly examining the code of Pokémon GO. He has found new results: In addition to headgear and hats for Pikachu, he also discovered a sprite of Stantler wearing bells around its neck. Can we look forward to another winter event soon?
What the dataminer found
The dataminer Chrales discovered additional costumes for Pokémon. Normally, only Pichu, Pikachu, and Raichu wear hats (Squirtle at Community Day is the exception here). However, Chrales also found a special Stantler.
What do the costumes look like? Sprites of Pichu and Pikachu have been found wearing winter hats. Additionally, there is a Pikachu that has floral decoration on its head. These headgear have already been discovered in the code for Raichu.
Stantler has now also been found in the code that looks particularly special. The Stantler wears a collar with bells. It appears to be a reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh. This would be fitting for Christmas, if that weren’t already over.
Will the costumes be released soon? Niantic has not yet made any statements regarding these costumes. They have only been found in the code and may not appear until next year.
What could the Pikachu hint at? The Pikachu with the winter hat could be used for an upcoming winter event. Niantic often releases a Pikachu with a special hat during events.
Such an event should happen soon, as winter is slowly coming to an end and a Pikachu with a wool hat won’t be fitting soon.
The Pikachu with the floral decoration would fit well into a spring event. One should keep in mind that Niantic might be planning such an event.
What could Stantler hint at? The special Stantler is causing a lot of confusion in the community. It would have been ideal for the Christmas event, but that is now over. It is hard to imagine this Pokémon with the costume being released outside of Christmas.
“McJawsh” writes on Reddit: “Oh, a bit late Niantic, isn’t it?” and receives a lot of support. One has to wait and see when Niantic will bring this version of Stantler into the game. Possibly only for the next Christmas event.
