The online game Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) receives major updates with new content four times a year. The penultimate DLC this year will be released under the name Wolfhunter and includes two new dungeons with werewolf themes, where players can let loose. The werewolf skill line will be revamped, players can reset their skill points individually, and a new PvP arena is coming.

This overview article contains all essential information about the DLC Wolfhunter, the Update 19, and its content.
The Stories of the New Dungeons
The DLC Wolfhunter is all about the two new dungeons being added to the ESO game world. They tell their own story and reward you for completing them with new item sets, mask sets, and unique collectibles. When you enter one of the new dungeons, you will be rewarded with the new headpiece of the werewolf hunter, which you can only obtain through the DLC. In each of the two dungeons, you will face five bosses.
The two dungeons are:
- March of Sacrifice
- The Moon Hunter’s Lair

Here’s what it’s about in the dungeon March of Sacrifice: Your group lands in the plane of the Daedric Prince of the Hunt, Hircine. He is hosting the Great Hunt, in which you participate. Your goal is a powerful Indrik. If you slay him and present his heart to Hircine, you will be personally blessed by the Prince of the Hunt. But you are not the only participants in Hircine’s hunting grounds.
Right at the beginning of the dungeon, you will meet your competitors. They all have different reasons for participating in the hunt. They also want to earn the favor of the Daedric Prince and may go as far as killing others to achieve that. So you can quickly go from being the hunter to being the hunted.

The second dungeon takes place in the Moon Hunter’s Lair. Vykosa, an ancient werewolf, has taken over the Moon Hunter’s Lair. There used to be a garrison of the Silver Dawn, a group of werewolf hunters. From the fortress, Vykosa is trying to raise a massive army with the goal of instilling fear in Tamriel. But you and your companions are on site to put a stop to it before Vykosa becomes too powerful. During the dungeon, you should look for an antidote from the werewolf hunters. The outcome of the quest changes if you find it.
Especially cool: As a reward for completing the dungeon in hard veteran mode, you will receive a skin that lets your character take on the appearance of a werewolf. However, it is not a polymorph that changes your entire form. The skin changes your skin and makes it hairier and more werewolf-like. With the skin, you can, for example, turn your favorite Khajiit into a cat-dog.
Release: Wolfhunter will be released on August 13 for PC/Mac and on August 28 for Xbox One and PS4.
Price: Probably 1500 crowns, the DLC is free for ESO Plus members during their membership.
What content does Update 19 bring?
In addition to the DLC, Zenimax is also bringing some quality-of-life improvements and changes to ESO. These are summarized under Update 19 and are free for all ESO players.
- Werewolves are being revamped: In line with the DLC, werewolves will receive a new fur. If one of your characters suffers from lycanthropy, you can benefit from the changes. The passive ability “Blood Rage” now extends the duration of transformation when you deal damage, and the active ability “Howl” is triggered immediately.
- With Respecialization 2.0, Zenimax is changing how you reset skill points. You can now choose individually which skill points to reset. This makes experimenting with skills easier. Fans have already suggested improvements.
- The new PvP Battleground Istirus Outpost is the first battleground where you can ride. The map is not completely symmetrical, so depending on your team, you have different paths to your objectives.
- The Alliance vs. Alliance PvP will be supplemented with Keep Recall Stones, which are intended to grant players higher mobility in Cyrodiil. Additionally, it combines the levels of keeps and operations, encouraging small groups and even single players to contribute to the war efforts.
