With today’s question, we want to know from you which free-to-play MMO is the best – and most importantly: why?
So many games, so little time
It’s Friday and once again time for a little Q&A session. The Easter weekend is just around the corner, which means gifts. Gifts are free. Free2Play is also free (What a transition, right?). But which free2play MMO is actually the best and why? What components must a game on the western market have to really blow you away? Good graphics, a fair cash shop, or regular updates?
Once you have decided this for yourself, which game is in the running:
Is it SWTOR because it can impress with exciting story content, WildStar with its crazy universe, Blade & Soul with action-packed PvP, Guild Wars 2 with its vast game world,Tera with its revealing character models, or Warframe, which is one of the most popular multiplayer shooters? Or is there another game that comes to mind? Let us know in the comments!
Cortyn says: I actually wanted to write Star Wars: The Old Republic into the article like a shot from a pistol, as we had also chosen it in the past as the top free-to-play MMORPG. However, that doesn’t apply with “Knights of the Fallen Empire” anymore, as the latest content is hidden behind the “paywall” of the subscription and the freshest chapters are not as convincing as the first ones were. For games like ArcheAge and Blade & Soul, I simply lack the time to make more in-depth assessments, so I will just leave both out.
Since I also don’t want to skillfully avoid and want to focus on Heroes of the Storm, I’ll lean far (and with thick nostalgia glasses) out of the window and say: WildStar. Anyone who has never played it should catch up on that in the coming months – if only because nobody really knows how much longer the game will last (Critical comments in 3, 2, 1…).
But enough about me! Which free2play MMO is your favorite and why? Which game do you not feel comfortable with at all? Let us know in the comments and join the discussion!
