The developers of the upcoming MMORPG Dark and Light have talked about the game world and the first area The Sacred Path. Interestingly, a maximum of 100 players per server will be allowed.
Dark and Light takes place on the planet Alpha, which is actually a moon of Gaia. However, Gaia was destroyed during a war and the survivors fled to Alpha, where they can still see the shell of their former home in the sky.
The first game area, where the heroes arrive, is called The Sacred Path. It is a large area consisting of various places such as dense forests, cities, floating islands, a mysterious shipwreck, and more. Additionally, you will find ten interesting dungeons in the landscape.
Plenty of space for 70 to 100 players
The Sacred Path is designed to convey the impression of a beautiful fantasy world with much to discover. However, Dark and Light will not be a theme park MMORPG, but a sandbox in which you can forge your own path. To allow you to fully immerse yourselves and have enough space for all your projects, only 70 to 100 players will be allowed per server. Fans fear that this is too few players to create a good MMORPG atmosphere, but the developers see it differently.
Because Dark and Light will not be a typical MMORPG. It is meant to be special, encountering other players, and survival elements only make sense if you don’t run into a fellow player every few seconds. The PvP system will also benefit from this limitation of player numbers. Three factions compete for dominance in the world of Dark and Light: the Vardo, Estel, and Zaharul – each will have their base at three strategically important points on the map.
There will be wars over so-called spawn points, which allow respawning outside of cities. Additionally, city sieges are planned.
Dark and Light: Early Access is coming, but when?
Furthermore, each player should try to reach the flying islands as quickly as possible, which is only possible with special flying mounts. On the islands, specific rewards and many secrets await. The game area The Sacred Path will therefore offer plenty of space for interesting activities and many diverse places to explore. An early access phase for the MMORPG is imminent, but there is no date for the start yet.
