The recently released online survival game Dark and Light in Early Access has not received well on Steam and garnered numerous negative reviews. Massive technical issues were also to blame. This annoyance is now set to be resolved with new servers and a major patch.
The fantasy survival game Dark and Light had hardly come out, when it was already bombarded by a ton of negative Steam reviews. Only one-third of players seemed to like the “Fantasy Ark,” while a large portion of players advised against purchasing it.
The reasons:
- Poor performance with extremely long loading times
- Graphics bugs
- Overly strong PvP focus
- Too close to Ark: Survival Evolved
According to many players, Dark and Light is shockingly unfinished even for an Early Access game. The developers do not want to let this slide and have pulled a few all-nighters.

To appease the angry players, a first patch has been released. This brings several improvements, such as:
- Female characters now hit better with stone swords
- Stamina and mana regeneration now work correctly
- The blacksmith in Estel is finally dressed
- Rank 2 equipment for magic defense can now be crafted correctly
- You can loot ghost scythes from Wraiths
In addition to the patch, there were also plenty of new servers. Three more realms were launched for the USA, Asia, Oceania, and Europe. This should hopefully improve the massive loading times and performance issues. The new servers are called:
- EU-Wyrmslayer-1
- EU-Wyrmslayer-2
- EU-Wyrmslayer-3
Meanwhile, the Steam reviews have stabilized. Positive reviews now slightly outweigh the negatives, but almost half of the players still find the game terrible. To improve the game and gather feedback, the developers have opened an official discussion on Steam at the provided link.
