The DLC Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077 has just been released, and you can dive into the quests around Dog Town. However, you could easily exclude yourself from the entire new main story with the wrong answer early on. We will tell you how to avoid that.
Which quest is it about – without spoilers? At the end of the fourth main quest “Lucretia My Reflection,” you can exclude yourself from the rest of the main story.
Phantom Liberty is a spy thriller that lets you collaborate with the government of the NUSA. Players whose V do not want to collaborate with the government can express this at the end of the fourth main quest.
How do I avoid being excluded? Anyone who answers the question that they do not want to continue will be excluded from the entire remaining main quest line around Dog Town. So, respond that you want to stay on.
Take the red pill if you want to play Phantom Liberty
Spoiler Warning: From here on, there are spoilers for the first four quests of Phantom Liberty.
Which part of the quest is it exactly? In the quest “Lucretia My Reflection,” President Myers sends you to the previously unknown Dog Town. There you are supposed to meet a so-called sleeper and bring him to her. “Sleepers” are agents who lead entirely normal lives until they are “activated” for a specific mission.
To officially make your commitment to her and the government, Myers quickly hires you as a new agent of her intelligence service. At first, you have no chance to decline this if you or your V have no desire for government work.

Once you are back at headquarters with sleeper Solomon Reed, your hour strikes: At the end of his conversation with Myers, Reed asks you if you want to continue. You have three dialogue options.
More about the story of Phantom Liberty can be read in our preview test:
What are the consequences? If you chose the third option, Solomon will only contact you once more. After that, his phone will be deactivated. However, without his callback, you cannot continue the main story and are excluded from the rest of the narrative.
This, however, does not affect your access to Dog Town or the availability of side missions. So, you can still expand your Relic advantage tree, serve the local fixers, and unlock new iconic weapons.
How do you avoid exclusion? Simply choose one of the first two answer options, even if it goes against your previous playstyle. After that, you should be able to choose freely again without undermining your progress.
