Anyone who plays Cyberpunk 2077 or has even completed it knows V’s mission and the many obstacles in his path. The base game endings are already very extensive, but with the DLC Phantom Liberty, you can now unlock a completely new ending and its variations.

How does the base game end for V? Which of the four endings you get primarily depends on your choice in the mission “Nocturne Op55N1”. However, to have all options available, you must complete the personal quests of Panam Palmer and Rogue Amendiares as well as the previous main quests. Also, pay attention to your sympathy level with Johnny Silverhand.
There is no ending in which you get rid of the biochip. Depending on your choices and gameplay, V either dies or tries in one desperate way or another to find healing. In one ending, V even leaves his body to Johnny Silverhand.

What is different about the ending in Phantom Liberty? If you make the “right” choices, V can survive and there is a bittersweet ending:
You fulfill a mission for President Myers. She keeps her promise and V has the biochip and Johnny Silverhand removed. After two years in a coma, V returns to Night City, but as a “normal” human: V can no longer use cyberware. In addition, many old companions have gone their separate ways and some want nothing to do with V anymore.
But V lives and can build a new life.
How do you get the new ending? In the mission “Firestarter,” you need to decide whether to help Songbird or Solomon Reed. Your decision primarily affects which other quests you will face and what kind of enemies you have to defeat.
With Songbird, you shoot your way to a space shuttle in “The Killing Moon.” There, you send Songbird to the moon to solve her own chip problem.
However, if you call Reed instead and help him catch Songbird, you have to face off against MaxTac units in “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos.” You ultimately capture Songbird.
No matter whom you help: If V is to survive, you must deliver Songbird alive to President Myers.
If you support Songbird, Reed will stand in your way. Hand Songbird over here. If you side with Reed from the beginning, you must capture Songbird. She will ask you to kill her – refuse that.

Editorial tip: After the ending in Phantom Liberty, V is a non-combatant. You can load an earlier save game and explore more of Night City, but you will need to replay the ending. Your completed quests also affect the extent of the ending.
We therefore recommend starting the quests from “Firestarter” only when you are satisfied with your adventures in Night City. You can play up to the base main quest “Nocturne Op55N1” without any problems and still unlock the new, more positive ending for V.
