Cyberpunk 2077 will be the next “big thing” from CD Projekt RED and is eagerly anticipated by players around the world.
For many years, there was silence around Cyberpunk 2077, leading some fans to even fear that the project might have been canceled. Fortunately, this is not the case. Just a few days ago, the Twitter account of Cyberpunk was revived with a “Beep”, exciting the fans.
Since then, more and more small pieces of information have surfaced, which the community clings to in order to learn more about Cyberpunk 2077.
Allegedly, Sony has a tech demo
A YouTube video by LegacyKillaHD reports that Sony is said to have already received a “tech demo” of Cyberpunk 2077 – presumably a small gameplay excerpt with the engine, so that it can be checked how smoothly the game is supposed to run on PlayStation. At least this indicates that development is progressing well.
CD Projekt RED had spoiled a little more in December – almost completely unnoticed. A series of images can be found via google.maps that allow a tour of the CD Projekt RED studio.
In the details, one can see artworks and areas of responsibility of the various developers, as well as modeled weapons.
Studio areas are named after locations in the game world
Furthermore, various areas in the studio are given specific names, such as “Arasaka” or “Kabuki.” Fans know that these names have significance, as they correspond to companies or areas in the world of Cyberpunk 2020 (the basis for the game).
Arasaka is a megacorporation that tries to turn Japan into a military superpower. Initially, they were just a service provider for security – like guards or insurance. However, the corporation has grown larger over time. It can thus be assumed that Arasaka will also play an important role in Cyberpunk 2077.
Fans largely take the uncertainty with humor and already speculate that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be released until 2020. This would be very fitting, as the game is based on the idea of the tabletop role-playing game Cyberpunk 2020.
