Cyberpunk 2077 is desired by many fans. During development, CD Projekt is already keeping an eye on the next console generation to be prepared for PlayStation 5 and the next Xbox.
The next game from CD Projekt Red is eagerly awaited by fans. Cyberpunk 2077 must prove that the developers can do more than just “The Witcher” and can also impress in a different setting.
Interest in the game is high, as shown by the enthusiastic reactions when the Twitter account for the game was reactivated with a simple “Beep”.
Cyberpunk 2077 is ready for the “next console generation”
Adam Kicinski from CD Projekt Red spoke a little about Cyberpunk 2077 at a financial conference. He didn’t want to reveal much, but due to the numerous questions, some information was pried out. For instance, it was asked how Cyberpunk 2077 would relate to the next console generation.
Kicinski replied that there is currently only speculation since the next console generation has not yet been announced. However, from a technological standpoint, Cyberpunk 2077 is “very advanced” and capable of functioning with future generations.
“The game has been developed to utilize future, very powerful equipment, but I can’t reveal much more since the upcoming console generation has not been announced yet.”
What sounds promising worries some fans. After all, there is still no release date for Cyberpunk 2077. Some want to read between the lines, suggesting that the game will only be released with the next generation of consoles, which could still take years – perhaps there will be fresh information at E3.
For the launch, focus is likely on single-player campaign
Otherwise, Kacinski repeated what has already been published: Cyberpunk will be similar to The Witcher 3 and offer a massive single-player campaign. There are no hidden costs such as microtransactions.
However, it sounded like the focus at launch will be on the single-player campaign. Perhaps multiplayer features will only come with further updates for Cyberpunk 2077. After all, the company wants to focus more on online components in the future.
But here the statements were still quite vague.
No announcement for new information has been made yet. “I can’t announce anything here. We will announce innovations shortly [before E3].” … which in essence is also an announcement, isn’t it?
