A supposedly free statue from Cyberpunk 2077 has turned out to be a gold mine. Collectors and fans are licking their fingers for it.
The E3 2018 not only provided attendees with a lot of information about the latest game highlights of the coming years, but it also turned out to be a true windfall for everyone who attended the presentation of the upcoming RPG Cyberpunk 2077. Statues were given away there, which have now made their way onto eBay and are being sold for exorbitant prices.
The statue was a gift at E3. The small statue depicts the cyborg woman from the original trailer of Cyberpunk 2077 from 2013. This statue was given for free to everyone who watched the more detailed gameplay demo of Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 – basically an extra goodie to leave the presentation in an even better mood.
Exclusive gift is being sold off
Who could get such a thing? The demo could only be seen by selected guests. Actually only buyers, advertisers, journalists, and other developers. The statue was distributed as a prize for “Community Giveaways.” But it seems that one or another wants to cash in on their piece now.
Prices between $100 and $700: Currently, the prices of the statue fluctuate between $100 and $700, with the highest actual bid currently at around $500. That would mean a decent financial windfall for anyone looking to profit from their Cyberpunk lady, even for a statue that was essentially free.
Why is the statue so valuable? So far, there is very little merchandise for Cyberpunk 2077, and it seems unlikely that this statue will find its way into regular retail. Sellers on eBay label it as “E3 2018 Exclusive,” which possibly comes from the packaging. In other words, there are only the statues that were distributed at E3. This makes them true collectible items and explains the high price.
Would you pay so much money for a figure from Cyberpunk 2077? Or are those prices too high and simply not worth it—even as a fan?
