Curse of Osiris brings the hottest ghost of all time to Destiny 2

The Osiris Curse DLC celebrates its release for Destiny 2 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in December. A recasting is particularly noteworthy.

The Osiris Curse raises the level cap to 25, increases the power level to 330, and tells the story of the Warlock Osiris, who was trapped somewhere in the Vex’s time games. Brother Vance also returns, but who really cares about him?

Much more importantly: The actress Morena Baccarin will voice the spirit of Osiris. Baccarin has had roles such as:

  The wife of the traumatized U.S. soldier Brody in Homeland
• The nasty alien lady Anna in “V – The Visitors”
• Inara from Firefly, a kind of elite geisha
• Vanessa, the tough girlfriend of Deadpool
• and Chloe with the crazy eyes from “How I Met Your Mother”

In her roles, the Brazilian actress Baccarin has always distinguished herself and became a prominent actress, surely also because of her attractiveness.

Baccarin will play the role of “Sagira” in Destiny 2 – that is the female spirit that once belonged to Osiris before they were separated.

Firefly casting trend continues

Interestingly, Baccarin is now the third main character from Firefly to be prominently cast in Destiny 2.

The other two are Nathan Fillion, who voices Cayde-6, and Gina Torres, who lends her voice to Ikora Rey.

In Firefly, Fillion played the captain, Torres his right hand “Zoë Washburne”. Baccarin played the role of Inara in Firefly, who was involved in a “Will they? Or won’t they?” relationship with Fillion’s captain.

Is Destiny 2 using its voice actors properly?

In the past, Destiny has not always excelled at giving its excellent actors something to do. The most prominent example is certainly Peter Dinklage as the first ghost, who surely had trouble delivering the somewhat silly lines of his role properly. Later, Dinklage was even replaced, and his role was re-voiced, allegedly because Dinklage was unavailable for further recordings due to his “Game of Thrones” fame.

Other roles in Destiny have also been highly prominently cast over the years, but have been hardly utilized. First-class actors like Bill Nighy (the speaker) and Frank Langella (the consul) voiced characters in Destiny, but they hardly went through any story arc.

Hopefully, Bungie gives Baccarin a chance to shine in the role of the spirit.
