Since yesterday, a roadmap for Lost Ark has been circulating online, which, however, contains outdated information that is therefore incorrect. We at MeinMMO explain what it’s all about.
What was that roadmap all about? The currently circulating roadmap for Lost Ark contains information about the upcoming content until June. Specifically, it mentions updates in March, April, and May. However, the information available there is outdated and incorrect.
The content plan showed new Guardian Raids, the continent of South Vern, Legion Raids, and Abyss Raids. The Destroyer and the Arcanist were also announced as the first two new classes in the roadmap.
The situation regarding the big March Update with new story and new raid is currently somewhat unclear. This was also part of the roadmap, but was already announced in a separate post beforehand. Currently, we assume that this update will be released as planned.
The PR from Amazon confirmed to MeinMMO that all information in the circulating roadmap is outdated. A new roadmap is expected to follow at an unspecified time.
How is Amazon responding? Last night, the official Twitter account of Lost Ark posted a message. It states that they are revising the current roadmap and adjusting it better to the players’ progress.
Amazon also apologizes for the delay and announces a more up-to-date roadmap that will follow after the March update. The same information can also be found in the Lost Ark forum, communicated by community manager Roxx.
The community reacts divided
What are the players saying? The false roadmap and Amazon’s statement currently dominate the forum and reddit. Many users, however, were rather less enthusiastic about the announced features and are now happy that something can still change.
Other fans, however, saw in the roadmap exactly what they wanted and are now worried that other classes or content might come first. The only thing everyone currently agrees on is that they do not find Amazon’s communication optimal.
Furthermore, the community seems united in wanting to invest more money. The biggest demand right now is for new skins and cosmetic content for Lost Ark, immediately followed by new classes. Especially the Lance Master is often requested.
What are the fans saying? Many fans on reddit are worried about the pace at which Amazon is releasing new content. This could also be one of the reasons why the roadmap is being adjusted afterwards.
- imthedan writes: “People are not reaching T3 as quickly as [Amazon] hoped. I think Western players are not as hardcore as the Koreans and enjoy horizontal progression more and in detail. I can well imagine that more classes and new power passes are now coming to the forefront.”
- Robin_Vie further speculates: “I think it has to do with the supposed reworks of the classes. The Destroyer was supposed to get a rework in Korea in April and then appear with us right after. Maybe something has shifted there.”
- Drennet sees it differently: “Most people haven’t even played through the content that is there; new T3 stuff would be pointless. Just give us more skins and more classes.”
