Hunters and story completers will have embarked on the trail of the legendary animals during the campaign of Red Dead Redemption 2. Normally, these are real tough foes not to be trifled with. However, due to a glitch, one player’s cougar recently acted more like a little cuddly kitten.
What is the white cougar? The white cougar is the legendary version of the regular cougars in Red Dead Redemption 2. Legendary animals are special because there is only one of each in the game.
Consequently, they are often more difficult to track. Their fur is very valuable and is used to craft special gear.
Here we provide you with tips for the fur of a legendary bear as well as for hunting the legendary alligator.
There are a total of 16 legendary animals, which are not only hard to spot but can also provide you with a good fight. Legendary animals should not be taken lightly. However, a player recently came very close to the white cougar.
What happened to the player? The user redditsucks876 shared a video of his hunt for the legendary white cougar in the RDR subreddit. For him, the cougar was not a wild and unpredictable beast, but a frightened little cuddly kitten.
After the player tracked the cougar to its den, the animal is sitting in a corner with wide eyes. The player can get very close, allowing you to see the reaction of the big cat.
The cougar seems to look at the player’s Arthur almost pleadingly and fearfully. The cougar shakes its head and seems to be meowing. But then it squints its eyes and shows its teeth, only to open its eyes wide again like a plush toy.
Where can you find the cougar? Hunting the cougar is part of the quest “Loan Sharking and Other Sins – Part IV,” which players can complete in Act 3. This is a camp quest that can easily be missed.
Players must have already completed the other parts and then approach Mr. Strauss, who demands that money be collected from two debtors. The cougar is taken down together with Winton Holmes. Holmes claims he has no money, but offers to go hunting for the legendary white cougar with Arthur and then sell the fur.
Legendary fish can also be found in Red Dead Redemption 2.
What do players say? The user redditsucks876 claims that at the sight of the peaceful cougar, he nearly could not continue with the quest. He felt hesitant to shoot the animal.
Other players joke that redditsucks876 is a monster and that the cougar only desired affection and love. A cowboy chimes in to suggest that it would be interesting if Rockstar had programmed it so that players could pet legendary animals. Another player mentions that he has always wanted to ride a legendary moose or bison in Red Dead Redemption 2.
What do you think about the legendary animals in Red Dead Redemption 2? Have you hunted them all or would you rather be friends with them?
