Actually, MeinMMO editor and shooter expert Dariusz Müller wanted to play Battlefield 6 with a good friend, but then he was only able to look at the ground due to a bug. Eventually, the two solved the problem, and the solution was actually quite simple.
What kind of bug is this? In the beta of Battlefield 6, there is a bug that allows you to only see the floor at your feet.
The character no longer responds vertically to movements with the mouse. You can turn left and right or shoot into the ground, but looking up and making eye contact with your opponent is not possible. However, the mouse works perfectly fine in the menu.
A search in the EA forum showed that this problem – or a similar one – is not an isolated incident and can occur with different players.
Mouse bug in Battlefield 6 lets you look at the floor
How do you fix the mouse bug? It may be that the bug is caused by certain devices connected to your system. In my friend’s case, the pedals were the cause of the problem. My friend plays not only shooters but also racing simulations like iRacing, Assetto Corsa, and Le Mans Ultimate, using a steering wheel and pedals.
When he unplugged the pedals from the PC, he was able to use his mouse in Battlefield 6 normally again.
The curious part: The pedals actually trigger an input in the game. When he pressed the gas pedal, his soldier raised the weapon until he was finally looking straight up at the sky. When he released the pedal, the character lowered the weapon back down to his feet.
Does the bug affect everyone with pedals or similar equipment? Currently, it seems that the bug does not affect everyone. Another one of my teammates, who also has a steering wheel and pedals and has them connected, had no issues at all.
Is the bug also present on console? Unfortunately, we are not aware of this; we only tested it on PC. Since my teammate was able to use his controller – unlike the mouse – without any issues while the pedals were connected, it seems that there is no effect on controllers.
If in doubt: If you are affected by the bug, disconnect any peripherals you don’t need at the moment.
Overall, PC players in the beta of Battlefield 6 are facing a few bizarre issues that do not exist on console – including a setting in the EA App that noticeably harms your performance if you do not activate it: A simple setting improves the performance of Battlefield 6, providing a strong boost for your FPS
