The release of Crowfall may have been postponed, but the community remains active and creative! In a fan-organized, thus unofficial contest, one can now try their hand as Minotaurs, Centaurs, and much more. The goal is to find the two best voice overs.
Those who enjoy competing creatively and like Crowfall or want to get to know it better are warmly invited to pick up their microphone and give a fitting voice to one of the races. And yes: You are also welcome to grunt, squeak, and roar! The main thing is, you have fun and capture the soul of the races!
The hard facts
- Submissions can be made starting from December 2, 2017
- Contest ends: December 29, 2017
- There will be two categories:
- The funniest voice-over (Funniest)
- and the voice-over that actually fits the respective race seriously well. (Serious)
- The prizes:
- The winner with the funniest submission will receive a Backer Package 2017 worth nearly €70.
- The winner with the best serious submission will receive a Backer Package 2016.

Examples of the various races’ quotes
Crowfall has come up with a few typical quotes for each race, which shed light on them and provide a first insight into their backgrounds. Even if you don’t want to participate in the contest, it’s definitely worth taking a look at these quotes.
I will post the German quotes here – but keep in mind that submissions must be made in English. The language of the Crowfall website can be changed by clicking in the upper right corner.
“In the time before time we could not speak. We were a simple folk. Sincere, yes. Hard workers, yes, but foolish as the animals in the field. One day our elder met a woman in the woods (…) She died with her hand on his head. In that moment, she gave him the gift: Knowledge, Intelligence, and Language. But not only him. To my whole folk.” (Meeraner)
Despite their cute appearance, the Meeraner are a highly civilized people that do not shy away from comparison with humans. According to their legends, however, this was not always the case, as the above quote proves. Voicing this can be done in a very atmospheric way. However, one can also easily parody this race and give their voice a hamster-like tone.
Stoneborn do not take women, do not father children. When a brother falls victim to hunger, we mourn. We cry. We sing. We return to the Great Work. We do it, even though we know we will fail. What is once broken cannot be put back together. Until the end of all days, we will toil in the bowels of the human realms. We will ensure that your fires continue to burn until the last of us is no more. (Stoneborn)
The Stoneborn are the oldest race in the world and certainly one of the most interesting, as they are not made of flesh and blood, but of what the earth provides. They are a thoughtful people due to their age, to whom one can give a very fabulous timbre!
The rules
- It must be original content.
- Software for voice manipulation may be used.
- Only recordings in English will be considered. But I’m sure that won’t be a problem for many of you!
- Since it will not be part of the official game, the gender of the speaker does not matter at all and does not have to match the race or character to be represented.
- The bolded, race-typical quotes above the respective race descriptions of Crowfall should be used.
- The two winners will also be featured in the “Hungercast” stream.
- By submitting the voice samples, you consent to your files being distributed and played in the stream.

- It must include:
- A link to the file itself, such as to Youtube, Crowfall, etc.
- Indicate which race and category (funniest or serious) you recorded the voice file for.
- Possibly your forum name and your Discord name.
