The sandbox MMO Crowfall now has total funding of over 10 million US dollars. An additional investment campaign has already reached the minimum goal of 150,000 US dollars with 46 days remaining.
Those of you who would like to invest in a sandbox MMORPG still have 46 days left. The online role-playing game Crowfall, planned for 2017, has launched a new funding campaign via IndiGoGo and the minimum goal of 150,000 US dollars is already met. Thus, the total funding for the project has already reached over 10 million dollars.
Investment instead of Crowdfunding
The current campaign is not the usual Kickstarter crowdfunding, where supporters receive a few goodies and digital items for their efforts. Rather, it is an investment in the developer studio ArtCraft Entertainment. If the project is successful, there may be profits for the investors. They receive shares in the company, but there is no guarantee that such a project will ever be profitable. As IndieGoGo states: The investors are on board when things go up and when they go down.
Crowfall is set to be released in 2017 and is currently in the pre-alpha phase. In the finished version, you will play a hero in a limited-time campaign. Within a few months, you can defeat all other players and rise to power, but in the end, all players will meet their demise through an invasion of undead. However, you can start a new campaign afterwards, possibly with completely different rules.
