The heart of the PvP MMORPG Crowfall is the campaign. This has not been playable yet, but an initial test is on the way.
In Crowfall, you repeatedly participate in what are called “campaigns“. You travel from your Eternal Kingdom as a Crow Soul to one of the Dying Worlds, create a hero there and start conquering the world with this hero to mine as many resources and earn as many points as possible before the Hunger consumes this world. Afterward, you travel back to the Eternal Kingdom, expand it with your collected achievements, and prepare for the next campaign.
Test the campaign
How this will play out is something the upcoming first campaign test is meant to show. The developers emphasize that this is only a test and not the first “real” campaign. All systems are to be thoroughly tested to determine whether everything works as it should. When you arrive in the campaign world, you initially choose one of the three factions Order, Balance, and Chaos, and you are bound to that choice. Afterward, you create your hero in the temple.
There is much to do
Now you begin to explore the world, fight against monsters (and other players), and mine resources. With these, you expand ruins of fortresses that you find in the landscape. You must defend these fortresses against other players and also venture out to conquer the enemy castles. Each faction has specific victory conditions. Chaos wins by finishing the game with as many fortresses as possible. The same applies to Order. Balance claims victory by ensuring that neither Order nor Chaos wins clearly.
Currently, it is not yet determined when the first campaign test of the MMORPG Crowfall will start. A date will be announced soon.
