Crossout, the post-apocalyptic action game with Mad Max junkyard cars, is now available for free download. With the current update, the release of the open beta for all platforms, PC, Xbox One, and PS4, has taken place.
If you don’t know what Crossout is, then imagine the gameplay of Wargaming’s tank action game World of Tanks. Instead of historical tanks, you control scrap buggies full of weapons through a post-apocalyptic world that could just as well come from a Mad Max movie.
Until recently, Crossout was in closed beta. Only those who paid were allowed to play. However, with the current update, that is no longer the case!

The open beta is now live in Crossout. This means that every player on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 can download the Crossout client and get started right away. Veterans from the closed beta, however, lose all their possessions, except for the real money items they purchased. These will of course be refunded. In addition, players from the closed beta will receive additional goodies such as paint cans, portraits, and a free vehicle called “Snappy”.
Newcomers start with the usual standard car, but soon you can assemble your post-apocalyptic dream vehicle with additional salvaged parts and engage in wild action battles with Gatling guns, chainsaws, and rocket launchers.
