The Swede Martin “Rekkles” Larsson is one of the most popular players in League of Legends in Europe. The 28-year-old Swede seems to be facing a tough test. A combative and controversial e-sports commentator, Thorin (41), has announced a major exposé report. The LoL pro Rekkles seems to be struggling to cope with it. Allegedly, Thorin has been after Rekkles since he was 15.
Here is the situation: Duncan “Thorin” Shields (41) is one of the sharpest and toughest critics in e-sports. Some also see him as a malicious troll, lamenting his past success from seven to nine years ago and hitting hard to be heard today.
Recently, we reported on MeinMMO about Thorin, when he had a meltdown against women in e-sports and screamed: “I am e-sports.”
On February 4th, Thorin announced that he would release a negative video about the Swede Rekkles, a so-called “Content Nuke,” in which he will expose Rekkles’ misdeeds from 2012 to 2023. The description states: The video has been in the making for years. It reveals one of the “worst villains in e-sports.”
Rekkles has reacted to this announcement feeling down and announced a break.

This was Rekkles’ reaction: Rekkles is currently playing for the trendy team, “Los Ratones.” There, in a regional league, he seems to want to wind down his career after becoming a world champion as a substitute player at T1 in 2024.
When he saw Thorin’s announcement, he ended his Twitch stream and canceled the planned practice matches with Los Ratones.
In the stream on Twitch, he says:
There have always been people who have wished me ill. But Thorin has always been this way. From day one. I expect the video to portray me in the worst light. I don’t know what’s in it. I don’t want to see the trailer, I don’t want to see the video. I am so extremely anxious that I can hardly speak – so I will stop the stream here and tell the guys that I can’t stream.
Rekkles takes a deep breath. He apparently has not been well since he learned that this video is coming.

However, anxiety in English is not viewed negatively but is rather understood as a relatable concern that one can openly talk about.

Apparently, in recent years, several situations have not suited Rekkles; he had a rough patch from November 2020 to October 2023, changed teams and also positions, and was apparently unhappy at G2, Karmine Corp, and Fnatic.
However, whether this can be definitively attributed to Rekkles, who recently seemed to be having a great time at T1 and now at Los Ratones as he is winding down his career, seems questionable. Currently, he seems to have found his place and was doing well, until this video came, which has now thrown him off course.
