What is For The King about? The king has been murdered by an unknown assailant, and chaos has erupted in the kingdom of “Fahrul”. Overwhelmed by the crisis, the queen asks the populace for help to save the land from destruction. The players set out on a journey to end the chaos.

What does the gameplay in For The King look like? As a group of three adventurers, you set out on your journey. You explore the game world with its dungeons, defeat enemies, and travel to different cities.
The maps are always generated anew, as are events, missions, and loot. This keeps every playthrough interesting and different from the previous one.
You have various types of weapons and classes at your disposal. You can unlock additional items, classes, and events during gameplay that will make you stronger and better in subsequent playthroughs, as well as further enhance the experience.
You can play the game both in single-player mode and with two other people. Each of you controls one of the three group members. The co-op mode runs online, but also on the couch.
In battle, you perform your actions in turn order within the turn-based system. Strategy is essential and can determine whether you survive or fail. Similar to DnD, dice are regularly rolled when certain actions are executed.
Individual members who fall in battle can be revived using saved lives. If the lives run out and the entire group dies, the game is over.
How do players rate For The King? Players rate the game on Steam very positively. Out of a total of 21,166 ratings, 88% are favorable (as of December 5, 2022, via Steam).
Particularly the co-op mode seems to be enjoyable for players. Especially for those who like DnD, For The King is recommended as a good digital alternative. The gameplay is quite challenging as a roguelike and is already quite difficult on the “normal” difficulty setting.
