The new open-world RPG Crimson Desert provides you with countless opportunities to explore the world. New gameplay scenes show, for example, bears, dinosaurs, dragons, and mechs.
What does the new gameplay show exactly? On the Japanese AUTOMATON channel on X, scenes from Crimson Desert can be seen that focus on the vehicles in the open-world RPG:
- In the first seconds, we see the main character on a flying dragon. From older trailers, we already know that the flying dragons can attack your enemies with their fire breath.
- Next is a ride on a large battle bear, which slaps your enemies with its paws.
- Classic mounts like horses can be seen, but also a riding dinosaur.
- With boats, you can explore the waters of the game world. Elevators take you up the mountains.
- Lastly, the main character is in a combat mech that takes apart an entire enemy camp with a machine gun and rockets.
“It is the game I am most looking forward to”
How does the community react to the scenes? While some are extremely excited about Crimson Desert, others remain skeptical whether all the ambitious promises can actually result in a good RPG in the end.
- Zack Austin writes on X: “It is the game I am most looking forward to, even more than GTA 6.”
- Sphere Mode Man counters on X: “I don’t know why, but every time I see news about this game, I just think that it’s all fake. Like everything I see comes from a fever dream; so many random things have been added that it can’t work as intended.”
- Fictional Wit has a plan on X: “My new mission is to ride on my war bear while sitting on a mecha-dragon.”
Our gameplay impression from gamescom 2025:
What do I need to know about Crimson Desert? The new RPG from the makers of Black Desert will be a purely single-player experience, but should shine with comparable strengths – such as beautiful graphics and a brutal combat system.
The previous trailers shine not only with great visuals and dynamic battles in the open world (with wrestling moves, destructible siege machines, and mounted combat). They also show activities like fishing, balloon rides, flute playing, arm wrestling, parkour climbing, taming mounts, and much more.
The setting (the harsh continent Pywel) and the characters of Crimson Desert strongly resemble Westeros from Game of Thrones with their Western aesthetic. The main character Kliff resembles a certain Jon Snow. The release is scheduled for March 19, 2026. You can find out more here: Release, trailer, and gameplay – All information about Crimson Desert
