Crimson Desert has provided detailed technical information about the PC and PS5 versions. However, on the PS5, you may have to make some compromises regarding performance.
Developer Pearl Abyss has presented detailed specifications on X.com for PC, consoles, Macintosh, and ASUS Rog Ally X.
In addition to extensive details about the PC version, Pearl Abyss has also released details about the PS5 version. Specifically, we now know what FPS values we can expect on the PS5 and PS5 Pro.
It is important to note that these are initially just the manufacturer specifications. Concrete gameplay for the PS5 has not been shown yet.
This is also a reason why many players fear that the PS5 version could have technical issues. The presented specs now confirm the fears that we won’t get a game that you will be able to play with 120 FPS on the PS5 Pro.
Even on the PS5 Pro with upscaling, max 60 FPS
Officially, the PS5 Pro is currently Sony’s most powerful console: According to the official PlayStation blog, HDMI 2.1 allows for up to 120 FPS in 4K and the console officially supports 8K at 60 FPS.
What about the PS5 Pro? According to the official console specifications, Crimson Desert is far from running at 120 FPS on the PS5 Pro: In performance mode, it aims for 60 FPS in 4K with strong upscaling (from Full HD), in quality mode, a maximum of 30 FPS is possible natively with ray tracing. Without the improved PSSR version, the FPS rate is likely to be even lower. And for a fast-paced action RPG, 30 FPS is already quite low.
If you forgo upscaling and play in native resolution, according to Pearl Abyss, a maximum of 30 FPS is possible, but with ray tracing at ultra settings.

How does it look on the regular PS5? The weaker PS5 looks similar: In performance mode, you get 60 FPS at Full HD, in quality mode a maximum of 30 FPS with upscaling.
On the regular PS5, you also cannot use PSSR, as this is officially only supported on the faster PS5 Pro. Therefore, on the regular PS5, you can only use the standard FSR 3.0 from AMD. More details on AMD’s FSR 3.0 can be found on MeinMMO.
