Key Feature 4: Character Development
To master the challenges of Crimson Desert, you need to improve Kliff, or optionally the other two playable characters, into better fighters. However, you do not gain experience points or level up.
Instead, you collect Abyss artifacts that you can then invest in the talent trees of the 3 fighters. In this way, you unlock new skills or enhance existing ones, boost attributes like stamina and health, or optimize areas like your mobility.
You obtain Abyss artifacts by completing specific quests, defeating enemies, exploring the world, and solving Abyss puzzles.
Aside from that, you can find better equipment for Kliff and co., and upgrade existing clothes and weapons. The so-called Abyss equipment can be slotted into the designated slots to expand your build with useful effects. And you can buy, find, or craft consumable items that are especially helpful in battles.
You will spend some time developing your characters, trying out talents, optimizing your gear, and obtaining useful items like healing food.
