Crimson Desert does not run for you if you have the wrong graphics card, this has been concealed by the developers so far

Those who want to play Crimson Desert must not use a certain type of graphics card. Otherwise, the game will not start. The developers have now confirmed that graphics cards from Intel are not supported. This is frustrating for players but is likely to affect only a small fraction of all PC gamers. The prevalence of Intel graphics cards is very low.

Crimson Desert officially released on March 19, 2026, but some players cannot start the game. Certain graphics cards from Intel are not supported and are also not listed in the official system requirements of Crimson Desert.

The developers have now confirmed the issue and urged players to seek a refund. Whether Intel graphics cards will eventually be supported is unknown.

Crimson Desert cannot be started with Intel ARC

Which players are excluded? According to the official statement on Discord, Crimson Desert does not work on Intel ARC graphics cards:

“Crimson Desert” currently does not support Intel-Arc graphics cards. If you purchased the game in the expectation that Intel Arc would be supported, please refer to the refund policies of the platform where you purchased the game to learn what options are available to you. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

What are these graphics cards? Intel released its ARC graphics cards under the codename “Alchemist” in late 2022. Thus, the cards have been on the market for over 3 years now. Nevertheless, the cards are rather obscure as Intel prefers to focus on the development of processors and data centers. Even the currently fastest GPU (ARC A770) is at most on par with an RTX 4060 / RX 7600, which is currently the entry-level range in graphics cards.

How many players are affected? According to the Hardware Survey by Steam, the share lies between 0.1 and 0.3%. This is a fraction compared to AMD and Nvidia of the players using Steam. Therefore, many players are likely not affected, and the market share is unlikely to grow much in the coming months as Intel is reportedly delaying the 2nd generation of ARC, which was originally supposed to arrive in early 2026.
