With Crimson Desert, the developers at Pearl Abyss (Black Desert) have a very hot role-playing fire in the forge of their game studio. But when exactly in 2025 will the potential highlight be released?
What is known about the release? Originally, Crimson Desert was scheduled to be released in the 4th quarter of 2021. There were several delays, until at some point 2025 was considered the targeted release year. There is still no officially confirmed date to this day.
However, the Korean website MTN now reports (via pcgamesn.com) that the open-world RPG by the Black Desert creators is expected to be released worldwide on November 2, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Why “expected”? Because this is said to be an internal, preliminary date.
The team is currently in the final development phase. If everything progresses as planned in the coming months, the release date remains November 2, 2025, and the date will be officially confirmed, according to MTN. This also means that there could still be delays at the last minute, which would affect the planned launch in November.

What do I need to know about Crimson Desert? Unlike Black Desert, Crimson Desert will be a purely single-player experience, but is expected to shine with comparable strengths – such as beautiful graphics and a brutal combat system.
The previous trailers not only shine with great visuals and dynamic battles in the open world (including wrestling moves, destructible siege machines, and mounted combat), but also showcase activities such as fishing, balloon rides, flute playing, arm wrestling, parkour climbing, taming mounts, and much more.
The setting (the harsh continent Pywel) and the characters of Crimson Desert heavily remind one of Westeros from Game of Thrones with their western appearance. The main character Kliff resembles a certain Jon Snow. You can even ride dragons, like the Targaryens.
If the release goes ahead in 2025, all RPG fans can look forward to another highlight in a strong RPG year (with gems like Kingdom Come Deliverance II, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, or even Monster Hunter Wilds).
