The community of Crimson Desert agrees: More important than the main quest is everything that happens around it. Now, players reveal what side activities they are most looking forward to.
Everyone probably knows the following feeling: After finishing the tutorial, you land somewhere in a city or camp and can decide for yourself what to do. Skyrim became known for players having already explored the entire game world before embarking on the main quest.
While the developers of Crimson Desert may plan for players to continue with the well-crafted main story, fans of Crimson Desert have something entirely different in mind.

Everything but the main quest
What do players want to accomplish? Instead of the main quest, players first want to venture out and explore the open game world. At least that’s what the top comment under a post on Reddit reveals. Here, user TheForbiddenLands explains what his first goal is: “Wander across the map to the other side with the mini-map turned off, under-leveled, getting lost and creating my own adventure for the next hundred hours before I even touch the MainQuest.”
Reddit user Razcsi, on the other hand, is first looking for a four-legged friend. His first target is, according to his comment on Reddit, to pick up a cat right away. The developers had already shown this feature in a video, and it also works with farm animals like pigs.
But the faction of fighters is also speaking up on Reddit. Among them is Test88Heavy, who wants to overwhelm the next enemy and test the combat system. He focuses especially on the wrestling moves that the character can learn.
What about faction gameplay? An important gameplay factor is the development of your own faction. Some players have recognized this and hope to gain advantages by quickly leveling up their faction and base on Reddit.
Others simply want to expand their base out of enjoyment for base building. This includes OSRSRapture, who asks on Reddit why not more RPGs allow base customization. After all, he really enjoys this kind of activity.
