In a new shooter on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, you feel like the daughter of Doom Slayer and Master Chief. The studio behind it has even developed a game that is considered a hidden gem on Steam.
What is this new game? The game is called Metal Eden and is a shooter with a sci-fi setting that leans towards cyberpunk. The game is being developed by Reikon Games – a studio from Poland that is responsible for a hidden gem shooter on Steam.

The last game from the developers was already “damn strong”
Which hidden gem is being referred to? Reikon Games also released Ruiner, which is rated 89% positive on Steam, an action shooter with an isometric camera view. However, only the comments below the trailer on YouTube point out Ruiner. Some think it’s a big mistake:
- For example, xer0signal writes: “I don’t understand why they don’t mention that this was made by the RUINER developers.”
- justinl8791 agrees and writes: “Yes, Reikon should be prouder of their legacy. Ruiner was damn strong.”
While Ruiner also offered a dark cyberpunk setting like Metal Eden, the new game takes a different approach in terms of gameplay.
That’s why Metal Eden reminds of Doom Eternal: You shoot from a first-person perspective, skillfully dodge attacks, and run along walls. Additionally, you have a grappling hook to pull yourself up on edges, and a jetpack.
The protagonist Aska could easily pass as the daughter of Doom Slayer and Master Chief, as skillfully and determinedly as she carves her way through her enemies. However, it seems you won’t expect over-the-top finishers like in Doom. At least the trailer hasn’t focused on that so far.
If you want to convince yourself of the gameplay, you will have the opportunity starting April 8, as a free demo for the shooter will be released then. Metal Eden is set to release on May 6, 2025, for PC on Steam and for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
