In the coop monster hunting game Dauntless, your enemies are fearsome beasts. But thanks to a bug, you can roast them with a rainbow death ray effortlessly.
What is Dauntless? Dauntless is a coop game similar to Monster Hunter World. You embark alone or with friends to slay massive beasts known as Behemoths. These creatures are particularly tough on higher difficulties and cannot just be easily taken down. Therefore, you need top gear and a solid teamwork strategy to hunt such a monster.

Rainbow laser? In Dauntless, you fight the monsters with axes, hammers, and spears. Some special weapons have unique powers. One of them is the spear “The Godhand”. Its special power is a colorful rainbow death ray that can be channeled for 6 seconds. During this time, it deals increasing damage. However, since it only lasts a few seconds and has a long cooldown, the weapon should still not be overpowered.

Bug causes super death ray: The problem is that a player can exploit a bug. In combination with overlapping animations, one can maintain the death ray of the Godhand indefinitely. This leads to a constant DPS stream on the poor monster, which melts under the laser like a snowflake. Especially in coop, it looks as if the Ghostbusters are taking down a particularly nasty ghost.
Developers want a bug fix, but the bug remains!
Why is no one doing anything? The developers of Dauntless are not pleased with the bug and have already brought a fix to the game. However, it has not been successful so far. Players soon found a new way to use the rainbow lasers infinitely.
Meanwhile, the developers have reached out again. They plan to bring another fix for the laser bug in the next update. Hopefully, this will finally put an end to the Ghostbuster mode once and for all!
