In October, Season 5 of the free MMO Conqueror’s Blade (PC, Free2Play) will start. It will bring a completely new region to the game. Particularly interesting is that two old regions will be closed to make the game, which is currently popular on Steam, even more competitive.
What happens in Season 5 exactly? On October 13, the new season begins in Conqueror’s Blade, bringing the region Anadolou into play. This is the first new region since release and tells the story of the rise of the Sultanate of Anadolou.
With this region come new cities, including the new capital Reginopolis, which has already been introduced as a siege map with Season 4.
In addition, the following changes will occur:
- With the new region, new units come into play, originating from Anadolou
- The two regions Maoyng and Ostaria will be removed
- There will be new unit challenges for the militia of Zykalia, which all players can unlock
- New territorial wars will take place
- A new Battle Pass with over 100 rewards will be introduced
Additionally, Halloween will fall within the current season. Spectacular events and activities are expected for players, but detailed information is not yet available.
Changes to the regions are meant to bring new momentum
What exactly is happening with the regions? Currently, there are 4 regions in Conqueror’s Blade that fight in the open world: Ungverija, Liangyun, Maoyang, and Ostaria.
The last two regions will be removed with the upcoming update, leaving only the first two as starter regions for existing and new accounts. Players will be able to enter the new region Anadolou only during the season.
Why is this change so interesting? The removal of two regions will drastically change the territorial battles in Conqueror’s Blade. Until now, 4 factions have been fighting over 5 zones (the borderlands in the middle), but now only 2 or later 3 regions will compete for 4 zones.
This is expected to play a significant role, especially in America, as some regions will be significantly outnumbered and dominated by the others (via reddit).
With the adjustments, the map and the wars in general will also change, as Project Coordinator Nikita Hetherington revealed to MeinMMO:
- In Phase 1 of the wars, Ungverija and Liangyun will fight in their territories.
- In Phase 2, battles will take place in the borderlands and the new region Anadolou will open – this is expected to happen on October 20.
- In Phase 3, battles will occur in all regions
- In Phase 4, the capitals in Ungverija and Liangyun will be contested
- In Phase 5, the battle will be for Reginopolis, the capital of Anadolou.
The new units: With Season 5, there are also new seasonal units that can be unlocked by everyone:
- The Siphonarioi, empyrean seafarers, value flame throwers.
- Another unit utilizes explosive hand projectiles and belongs to the militia of Zykalia – they will appear on October 13.
- The last new unit works with spears and belongs to the brotherhood of Symmachoi – they are expected to be unlocked on October 27.
With Season 3, a new class, the Warhammer, was introduced. So if you haven’t checked the MMO for a while, you should take a look at Season 5 for that reason.

Conqueror’s Blade remains strong on Steam
How is Conqueror’s Blade doing currently? Due to the coronavirus, many countries faced restrictions. These led to many MMOs gaining player numbers. Conqueror’s Blade was also among them.
In April and May 2020, the medieval MMO averaged 3,194 and 3,353 players respectively. Those were the strongest months, except for June 2019, when the game was officially made available for everyone.
However, even after the initial easing, the game did not drop completely. While the numbers went down in June and July, they skyrocketed again in August. There, an average of 4,433 players daily played Conqueror’s Blade.

In the Steam reviews, the MMO is also performing well. In the last 30 days, nearly 800 reviews were added, 78% of which were positive, which is 6% more than the overall rating. Some changes made in 2019, including new tutorials, balance adjustments, and fixes for technical issues, certainly had an influence on the positive comments.
By now, Conqueror’s Blade has found a good and consistent rhythm with regular seasons that continually introduce new units, rewards, and additional new game modes, classes, or, as in this case, a region.
