The race for the World First Kill of Queen Azshara in World of Warcraft is over. Method takes the First Kill and defeats Azshara.
For almost two weeks, the nerve-wracking race for the World First Kill of Queen Azshara lasted. The current final boss of the raid “Eternal Palace” held out against the professionals from Method for more than 350 attempts. After an extremely painful wipe with 0.9% remaining health points, Method needed a few more tries to repeat the whole thing.
Method gets First Kill after Limit went to bed: The race primarily took place between the two professional guilds Method and Limit. Until last night, Limit had gained an advantage. They even extended their original raid time by a whopping 6 hours to secure the kill before Method, but it was not meant to be.
Freshly rested, the European guild Method managed today to break record after record. After a 5.1%-wipe the previous day, today followed a 0.9%-wipe. A few attempts later, Queen Azshara finally lay in the dust. You can watch the moments of the kill here:

No hidden phase: Some viewers had expected that Queen Azshara could have a hidden phase in mythic difficulty. However, that was not the case. After reaching 0% health points, the fight is over. The path there was tough enough; the stronger abilities in mythic difficulty had kept the raiders busy for many hours.
The kill was only possible because of a nerf a few days ago. Without it, Method probably wouldn’t have made it.
