In Conan Exiles, you now have a little longer before your buildings disappear. At least on the official servers. Funcom aims to accommodate players who want to enjoy their vacation in the summer.
What is Conan Exiles changing? In a new forum post, Funcom announced that the decay timer has now been increased to 14 days. So if you can’t play Conan Exiles for a while, you won’t lose your buildings and your cool bases right away.
The setting is intended to be “temporary” and only work on official servers. It is available from now on and is supposed to be maintained until August. If you run your own server, you can set the decay duration yourself anyway.
What is the decay timer? The decay timer indicates how long a building part or a base remains before it first goes into a “abandoned” status and eventually disappears completely from the server.
Currently, the decay timer lasts a maximum of about seven days with an additional two days for the “abandoned” status. If you don’t log in during this time, you lose your buildings.
This setting is meant to prevent players from simply clogging up passages with ridiculously large constructions and then leaving, so that the server capacity and the best building spots aren’t exhausted because too many inactive players have built their castles.
What do I gain from this? For players, this means that they now have 14 days to log in again and not lose their beloved buildings – 16 days if they are sure that no one else will claim their spots during this time.
Since Conan Exiles became free for PS Plus, the timer on PS4 has already been set to 14 days. For PS4 players, this means that the timer will presumably revert to only one week starting in August.
The community thinks it’s good, but demands more
This is what players say about it: The change is received very positively. For some time now, players have been repeatedly requesting a longer timer so they can take a break of more than a week without problems.
Fans now hope that Funcom will continue down this path and keep the extended timer permanently in the game.
