In the last Q&A session about Conan Exiles on Reddit, lead developer Joel Bylos faced some severe criticism from the players. According to them, the game is already dead before its release.
The wild barbarian survival MMO Conan Exiles has temporarily saved the MMO publisher Funcom, but now the mighty barbarian shows weaknesses. During a Q&A session, lead developer Joel Bylos was confronted with severe criticism from the players. According to them, the game is already dead, even though it hasn’t officially launched yet!
Conan Exiles – A Stillborn?
According to a statement during the Q&A session, the following problems are currently plaguing Conan Exiles:
- The game is infested with bugs
- There are plenty of exploits that no one is fixing
- Many servers regularly have zero active players
- Some servers have already disappeared
- On Twitch, the number of viewers is consistently low
- New content is coming too slowly
- Bug fixing is not being handled effectively enough
These many bugs are leading to massive player departures from the barbarian wasteland. Even role players are now fed up and are leaving – usually, they are very tolerant of frustration.
Conan Exiles – Developers are Working Overtime
Rather than ignoring the objection, lead developer Joel Bylos addresses the criticism. To further improve the game, Funcom is working as much as legally permissible. Additionally, they have already outsourced certain areas of development to external companies to be even more effective. Furthermore, Conan Exiles is more stable compared to other early-access games and has fewer bugs.
Bylos also presented additional upcoming innovations for Conan Exiles:
- Weather effects will come to the new biome, which will also affect temperature. Your characters will need to protect themselves from extreme temperatures.
- The upcoming new biome will also bring a lot of new content, including traps for fish and crabs, beehives, and harvesting tools for plant fibers.
