Conan Exiles gets new official servers today, February 9th. After today’s patch, the new machines are expected to go online.
Unexpectedly, Funcom, the developers of the barbarian MMO Conan Exiles, shut down the official servers on February 3rd. The performance was deemed too poor. As a result, the official barbarian realms suddenly disappeared, but Funcom promised a soon solution to the problem and began searching for providers with the necessary hardware for the barbarian survival MMO.
New Servers in Sight
Just six days later, Funcom announced on Steam: “We have new servers!”
Today, February 9th, 81 servers in America are set to go online. The server start is planned right after the daily patch is deployed. European players will have to wait a little longer, as the 31 new Europe servers are planned for tomorrow, February 10th.
The new machines will initially be limited to 40 players, but are expected to be expanded soon. However, Funcom intends to thoroughly check the performance before potentially acquiring additional hardware.
However, there remains a disappointment: Due to corrupted data, it is unclear whether players’ saved progress from the old official servers can be transferred. So players should prepare for wipes.
Furthermore, the developers continue to emphasize: official servers are not the ultimate solution. Everyone should be happy in their own Conan world and play to their heart’s content on unofficial servers or even rent their own servers! You can find out how to do that in our guide at the provided link.
