The developers of Conan Exiles have promised a huge patch – which is now here earlier than planned. However, the early release brings some issues.
“Mother of all patches” is live, but causing trouble: On July 5, 2018, Funcom launched a patch for Conan Exiles that is supposed to fix over 500 bugs. However, since the patch, more and more players are reporting that the game is no longer playable properly.
Huge patch for Conan Exiles causing problems
Funcom attracted players with an offer to test the mega patch for a while. This allowed the developers to release the patch ahead of schedule. However, some players are now reporting that they can no longer play properly.
Patch active earlier than planned: The “500+-patch” for Conan Exiles was actually supposed to be released at the beginning of August. However, the developers brought the patch to the test live servers a few days ago and had some players test it.
With a huge “call to arms,” Funcom mobilized the community and got over 900 players to test the patch on the test servers. Testing took place from July 4 at 10 PM to July 5 at 10 AM in a stress test.
Free DLC with the “call to arms”: Players who tested the huge patch on the test servers were able to receive the new Aquilonia DLC for free, which will be released at the beginning of August.
For this, players had to create a new character on the test live servers and bring it to level 25 during the short testing period. This journey from Conan Exiles was probably not a great challenge for many players and was mainly lured by the promise.
Problems since the patch: Apparently, the offer for the DLC was more interesting to many players than actually testing the patch. Since the release of the new version of Conan Exiles on July 5, there have been several issues with the game.
It is especially reported that slaves suddenly fall through structures and die somewhere in limbo beneath the world. Additionally, performance seems to suffer for some players since the new patch. There are also increasingly frequent issues related to the journey, which is reset.
For many players, the gaming experience has also improved. Since not all players are affected by the issues, some players are even suggesting “wipes” and “rollbacks” of the official servers. The servers should be reset or reverted to an earlier state to ensure fair conditions.
How about you? Have you experienced more issues since the patch, or is it running smoother? Are you in favor of a reset or are you satisfied with the changes? Let us know in the comments!
