In the “Midnight Grove” in Conan Exiles, new enemies and a new religion await you. How to enter it and what you can see there is explained here.
What is the Midnight Grove? The “Midnight Grove” is a new dungeon for several high-level players, which will be released with the next update for Conan Exiles. The grove is a maze through which you must fight your way to defeat the various bosses.
As a reward, you will receive new ingredients and recipes as well as access to a new religion. The Midnight Grove is currently available on the test live servers. A concrete release date is not yet available.
In a livestream, the developers have already revealed how to get into the new dungeon and what you can loot there.
How do I enter the Midnight Grove?
Obtaining the “Potion of Midnight”: To enter the Midnight Grove, you first need to obtain a “Potion of Midnight”. After drinking the potion, you will be instantly teleported to the dungeon.
You can get the potion from the “Child of Jhebbal Sag” north of the nameless city. You just need to bring him 5 units of raw meat, and in return, you will receive one of the potions.
With the upcoming update, a grid for the map will be added in Conan Exiles. The NPC is located in field D8.
Potion of Midnight – Recipe and Crafting: You can also learn the recipe for the Potion of Midnight from the Child of Jhebbal Sag. Just talk to the wolf and learn “Midnight Alchemist” from him.
After the Child of Jhebbal Sag teaches you how to prepare it, you can easily prepare the midnight potions at a firebowl cauldron. You will need:
- 1x glass bottle filled with water
- 5x blood
- 3x bone meal
- 20x yellow lotus powder
What is there in the Midnight Grove?
Ingredients for new recipes: In the Midnight Grove, you can find a new ingredient called “Shadebloom” when harvesting defeated bosses. With Shadebloom, you can prepare “Shadebloom Meat”.
According to community manager Jens Erik, the food should increase the likelihood of getting a larger or better pet when raising it with your animal companions. Larger companions have more attack power and health points and a different appearance.
The pet system will also be introduced with the new patch, along with the Midnight Grove.
Access to the religion of Jhebbal Sag: The final boss of the Midnight Grove is a large werewolf, Jhebbal Sag’s champion. If you defeat the werewolf, you can loot his flesh from him.
If you consume the werewolf flesh, you gain access to the new religion of Jhebbal Sag, which revolves around the new companion system. You will learn the recipes for his altar and several religious items.
Outlook: More dungeons and better respawn
Respawn in the dungeon: Along with the “Midnight Grove” dungeon, a new respawn system will be introduced. You can choose to be resurrected at the beginning of a dungeon when you die.
This is particularly advantageous because you cannot place sleeping bags in dungeons. After death, you can decide whether to abandon the dungeon or continue, without having to travel back.
The respawn feature in the dungeon will initially only be available in the Midnight Grove. For the other dungeons like the Dregs, it will be implemented later.
Even more dungeons: After the Midnight Grove, two more dungeons are expected to be released for Conan Exiles. Community manager Jens Erik hinted during the livestream that there could be even three.
