On January 31, the survival RPG Conan Exiles will enter Early Access on PC, and the developers at Funcom have now revealed what you can look forward to in this version.
The Early Access of Conan Exiles does not offer the full game but a rather early version that is meant to give you a good insight into what you can expect for the release version. Nevertheless, you will already be able to do quite a bit. Highlights of Early Access include various biomes such as deserts, oases, ruins, and springs. There you will explore the remnants of long-forgotten civilizations.
Servants defend your buildings
Conan Exiles will mainly focus on melee combat. Throughout your exploration tours, you will find snippets of lore or experience a story. Through the religion system, you can use magic and summon avatars of gods, for example. Furthermore, it is possible to enslave enemies and use them as servants. This servant system is designed to enable every player to focus on creating buildings and cities without having to rely on other players. Additionally, the servants protect the buildings during your absence.
Since each player can set up their own server, they also receive tools to deal with players who spread chaos or insult others. Considerable emphasis is placed on character creation. You determine the appearance, which religion and race they belong to, what their voice should be like, and much more. Those who know the Conan films with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role should stay away from camels in the game, as they will fight back unlike in the films.
No mounts for now
Weapons do not last forever and can eventually break. At night, you should be particularly cautious, as dangerous creatures will venture out of their hiding places. Regarding movement, there will be no mounts at the beginning of the Early Access of Conan Exiles. Flying mounts are not planned at all. Mounts are also not intended to provide support in battles, as the fights focus solely on the players.
The Early Access of the survival online RPG Conan Exiles begins for PC on January 31, 2017. The Xbox One version will follow in spring. There is no Early Access phase planned for PlayStation 4.
