The survival MMO Conan Exiles has already recouped its costs. Additionally, there is information about the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
As Funcom announces in a statement to investors, their survival MMO Conan Exiles has already recouped its costs. They have sold 320,000 units worldwide. The product is now operationally profitable. Conan Exiles launched in Early Access on PC on January 30.
The team will continue to work on Conan Exiles and ensure that all technical flaws are addressed and all player requests are met before moving into full launch on PC.
Development on the Xbox One Game Preview version of Conan Exiles is progressing according to plan. Work on the PlayStation 4 version of Conan Exiles is scheduled for later this year.
Funcom believes they will achieve the long-term goal for Conan Exiles and will be one of the top 10 multiplayer survival games on Steam a year after launch.
Conan Exiles on Xbox One and PS4 – here’s the situation
So far, it is known that Conan Exiles is set to launch on Xbox One in Spring 2017. On the PS4, it seems likely to appear only at the official launch, which could be delayed for up to a year, potentially not occurring until early 2018. There is a statement from Funcom that they want to remain in Early Access with Conan Exiles “no longer than a year”.
Even the survival MMO ARK: Survival Evolved, which Conan Exiles is modelled after, had this problem with the PS4. Sony generally does not allow early access titles on its platform. In the case of ARK: Survival Evolved, a sort of compromise was reached. Although ARK is still in Early Access on Xbox One and PC, the game has already released on PS4.
It seems Sony has made an exception. Whether this will happen with Funcom and Conan Exiles at a later date is questionable.
Conan Exiles is evidently a hot title right now. On Steam, Funcom reports a peak of over 50,000 concurrent users. If you also want to join the barbaric hordes:
