The survival MMO Conan Exiles presents its future plans and does not intend to remain in Early Access forever.
In a press statement, which we also have, Funcom states that the “full and final launch” of Conan Exiles is expected to take place in 2017. They do not expect Conan Exiles to remain in Early Access for more than a year.
This is likely a precautionary measure to avoid the bad reputation of Early Access. Some of the most well-known Early Access titles have been stuck in limbo for ages.
Conan Exiles – These are the next steps for the PC version
Moreover, Funcom is releasing a list of features that are currently in development:
- A trebuchet – siege equipment to bombard opponents and their fortresses. The trebuchet will be difficult to construct and transport. Once set up, it should be well protected, as it will be a lucrative target for opponents.
- A dye system – Funcom is working on a system to dye clothing and armor in Conan Exiles. Players will be able to extract dye pigments from various resources. Clothing items can then be dyed. This will help clans to standardize themselves for easy recognition in the heat of battle.
- Animations for thralls – Currently, enslaved servants, the thralls, do not have animations when performing their crafting tasks; they only kneel. Here, they aim to provide animations for them to hammer, saw, or sew.
Furthermore, they plan to introduce new features, improve AI, implement bug fixes, and generally introduce a lot of new gameplay content regarding creatures, thralls, crafting, and story. They are also still working on translations.
